The Utopia Photo Market is a pop up photo gallery and market that takes place at the Utopia 126 creative space from the 10th to the 12th of June.

In the age of smart phones, Instagram and Snapchat, selfies and social shares, the value of the traditional art form of old-fashioned photography is in danger of being diminished. Utopia Photo Market is part of a movement that aims to reverse this trend.

So, whether you’re a professional or a novice behind the lens, the Utopia Photo Market allows you to develop your art, have your work seen by a wider audience, and to take further steps into the world of photography.

Utopia Photo Market also offers you the chance to buy works by some high-profile photographers who will be attending the market, including the winner of the 2012 World Press Photo contest, Samuel Aranda.

As well as shopping, the event hosts activities such as the opportunity to have your digital portrait created by the iconic Spanish artist and designer, Javier Mariscal, whose body of work ranges from Barcelona’s Gambrinus sculpture, to the set design for Big Brother and for Oscar-nominated film, Chico and Rita (2010).

Other activities include a hands-on workshop led by Wet Plate Studio, looking at how analogue cameras work, photo auctions and plenty more surprises.

Places for some activities are limited so do keep an eye on the website for updates.

Tickets cost from €3. More information see http://www.utopiaphotomarket.com/
