Barcelona offers many rooftop bars and restaurants, the ideal place to spend a pleasant day enjoying the views whilst eating and drinking. Here we review some of the best.

Visit Up is the terrace of the Hotel Pulitzer (Bergara, 8, next to the Plaza Cataluña). Every Wednesday from 19:00 to 22:00 cocktail tasting is offered.  Visit Up is also a restaurant so you can have lunch or dinner any day of the week overlooking Barcelona’s old town.

Very close by is La Isabela, the terrace of Hotel 1898 (La Rambla, 109). Located in a building that was once the headquarters of the Tobacco Company of the Philippines, this terrace offers panoramic views across the city, the chance to enjoy a snack, a tapas dinner, a drink and even a dip in the pool, all in an atmosphere inspired by the Philippines.

On the other side of the Old Town is the Olympic Port and the Hotel Arts (Marina, 19-21), with its terrace ‘La Terraza de Arola’. The man in the kitchen is Sergi Arola, a former alumni of Ferran Adrià. This terrace looks directly onto the famous Peix D’Or (Golden Fish) statue by Frank Gehry and onto the Mediterranean sea.

Sticking with Hotel terraces, the Hotel Duques de Cardona (Paseo de Colón, 12) has Brisa del Mar is located in the Old Port and offers a plunge pool, solarium, snack bar and restaurant overlooking both the port and the sea.

At the Hotel La Florida (Ctra Vallcidrera Tibidabo) the Bar Miramar terrace overlooks the pool and the hotel. This bar offers a lunch menu and cocktails with excellent views over Barcelona thanks to its location on the higher ground at the back of the city.

A great place to party at the weekend is  at the weekend is the Torre Rosa (Francisco Tarrega, 22), located in an early twentieth century colonial style house and its grounds, offering a large terrace and a garden with palm trees and pine trees.

Elephant (Passeig del Til.lers, 1 Pedralbes) is decorated with a Moroccan and Asian colonial theme and is divided into four distinct areas: chill out, tents, tower and VIP area. The terrace is in the chill out area, You can book each of these spaces for private parties.

Carpe Diem Lounge Club (Paseo Marítimo de la Barceloneta, 32) is located on the beach and  unites Mediterranean culture with Buddhist philosophy. In addition to drinks and cocktails Japanese food and Spanish food are served.

The Mariblau terrace (Plaza del Doctor Andreu) is a Barcelona icon. It has two floors and two terraces with good views over Barcelona thanks to its location at the foot of the funicular at the end of Avenida del Tibidabo.
