According to Time Out International, Primavera Sound is the best music festival in the world. Here at Feelathomeinbarcelona, we are inclined to agree. This year’s festival takes place from the 1st to the 5th of June, at the Parc del Forum venue.

An exciting roster of headline acts includes: Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, The Last Shadow Puppets, Tame Impala, Sigur Rós, and none other than Brian Wilson performing ‘Pet Sounds’, the 1960s Beach Boys masterpiece. Nice!

Other highlights confirmed include Animal Collective, Suede, Julia Holter, Destroyer, Manel, Robert Forster, Holly Herndon, Beirut, and Kamasi Washington – all of them with new albums out in 2015 or coming in 2016 – as well as Beach House film-maker John Carpenter.

As well as these international acts, don’t forget to check out some of the great local bands playing. You’ll get plenty of singing in Catalan as well as Spanish and English. For artists from Catalonia and the rest of Spain, check out Manel, Los Chichos, PXXR GVNG, Doble Pletina, Die Katapult, El Último Vecino, Grupo de Expertos Solynieve, Esperit!, Inspira, Joana Serrat, Alberto Montero and Ran Ran Ran.

Primavera Sound started back 2001 as a day of concerts and DJ sessions oriented toward alternative pop-rock and electronic sounds. Fast forward fifteen years, and the festival is a huge global event with an edition in Porto in Portugal (Nos Primavera Sound) as well as its smaller offshoot, Primavera Club, also in Barcelona. Here is the full list of confirmed acts:
