Following on from our post on Summer Nights at La Pedrera comes another exciting musical event hosted in a Gaudi masterpiece. This time the building in question is the Torre Bellesguard, which is located uptown in Sarria and only recently opened its doors to the public in 2013, meaning it is one of the architect’s less explored works.

Bellesguard (meaning beautiful view in Catalan) is also known as the Casa Figueres, is a manor house designed by Gaudí between 1900 and 1909 that plays with gothic forms in Gaudi’s characteristically flamboyant style.

This summer the Torre Bellesguard will be the venue for no less than 47 open-air jazz, blues and flamenco concerts in its spacious gardens, taking place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Some of the well-known names to be be appearing on the ‘Nits Premium’ (premium nights) include Mishima (July the 28th), Andrea Motis (August the 18th) and Jarabe de Palo (September the 15th).

Ticket prices start from €19, and in addition to entry include a free glass of cava and a guided tour of the property.

The Torre Bellesguard is located at Carrer Bellesguard 16-20, 08022 Barcelona.

Concerts take place from Tuesday to Sunday, from 7.30pm to 10pm, right through the summer until September. For tickets and a full schedule, see http://www.nitsgaudi.com/events/list/
