One more year, the Mobile World Congress arrives in Barcelona. An event that has been repeated since 2006 and that every year brings together thousands of attendees. Thousands of visitors come from all over the world to attend the congress and turning Barcelona into a global epicentre of technology. Last year was a record year, with 109,000 attendees (2000 more than in 2017) coming from 198 countries.

What is the MWC?
The MWC 2020 is the world’s largest telephony event. Every year, companies and personalities of recognized prestige present in Barcelona the most important novelties in mobile communication, global technology and I+D platform.
The main theme of this edition is Intelligent Connectivity, encompassing topics such as Artificial Intelligente, Connectivity (the 5G Era), Media & Entertainment, Security & Privacy or Customer Engagement.
When will the MWC be held?
The congress will take place from February 24 to February 27 in Barcelona. As we told you before, more than 109,000 people and 2,400 companies from almost 200 countries meet an event where the most well-known mobile sector companies take the opportunity to present their innovations in smartphones, new mobile devices and their most strenght and innovative projects.
Where will the MWC 2020 take place?
Fira de Barcelona is, once again, the chosen place. Given the magnitude of the event, the organization of MWC 2020 distributes the activities in two locations. On the one hand, Fira Gran Via, where the vast majority of events take place. and on the other hand, Fira Montjuïc, in Avenida Maria Cristina (next to Plaza España), a venue 4 km down the road.
Do you know how to get to Mobile World Congress 2020?
There are too many different ways to get to the MWC. As we told you before, most of the conferences, exhibitions and talks or seminars take place in the Fira Gran Vía venue. Every year, the MCW Mobile World Congress organisers set up a fleet of buses all over the city to provide transport to the venue for all attendees.
On the one hand, people who wants to pick up public transport can take the S8, S33, R6, R5 and S4 lines of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat. On the other hand, there are a lot of buses such as H12, 46, 65 and 79 as well as L1, L3 or L9 Metro lines to arrive at fairground (Plaça Europa stop). In addition, Barcelona are going to strengthen the taxi fleet for the congress days and, at the same time, visitors will be able to rent one of private chauffeur services offered by private companies.

What conferences will you attend during the MWC 2020?
The MWC 2020 daily timetable may be tight. In order not to miss any of the conferences that the company leaders are planning to do, the best option is to keep an eye on the Mobile World Congress program.
As every year, the event will have top-level personalities and experts, in charge of giving interesting presentations related to the different topics (mobile, e-commerce, financial services, etc.). The most outstanding presentations in this edition of MWC 2020 are those by Marc Fontaine (Difital Transformation Officer in Airbus); Mats Granryd (Director General in GSMA); Rajeev Suri (President & Ceo in Nokia); or Sara Spangelo (Co-Founder & CEO in Swarm Technologies).
During the congress MWC 2020, attendees can also visit events such as the ‘Youth Mobile Festival’ (YoMo), NEXTech Hall, Women4Tech, 4YFN (Four Years From Now, an event aimed at professionals and entrepreneurs) and Platinum Experience.
In addition, the 25th edition of the prestigious GSMA GLMO Awards 2020 will also take place, where the main innovations and achievements of people and organizations in the mobile phone sector are celebrated.
