Barcelona is deserted by locals at this time of year and visitors often find the city at their disposal, things having gone rather quiet. As our blog this month highlights, there is still abundant noise for those seeking it in the form of numerous concerts and festivals. This truly is a great time of year to enjoy music in some really special spots.

The San Miguel Mas i Mas (more and More) festival is one such event and since its launch in 2003 has become a not to miss date in the summer diary.
Conceived of with the objective of providing some “first class cultural activity” during the quiet heat of the summer months, Mas i Mas takes places from the end of July and throughout August, and consists of some fabulous concerts in famous venues in the city, including art nouveau treasure the Palau de la Música and Jamboree.

As ever Mas i Mas doesn’t put music in a box and puts on something for everyone to get down to. Performances will cover everythinge from jazz to techno to flamenco to funk with a line up including Spanish techno pioneer Oscar Mulero, Miles Davis tribute the Miles Tribut Big Band, flamenco act Azahra and chart topper Aloe Blacc.

Mas i Mas starts on the 27th of July and runs through to August the 29th. For more information and tickets see the Mas i Mas website here.
