The Casa Batlló is one of Gaudi’s masterpieces, and one of the jewels of the city. Located on Passeig de Gràcia, where the main concentration of Barcelona’s finest historical art nouveau buildings can be found, though many other fine examples exist throughout the Eixample area, as well as some notable works in the old town – such as the Palau de la Musica – this is perhaps the most famous home designed by Gaudi.
A novel new historical tour of the Casa Batlló is conducted by an actor dressed as the young Gaudi, who then explains the historical home in detail. This is a fun and entertaining tour, suited to people of all ages as well as being aimed at children; it is not a dry historical account at all, rather, the narrative includes numerous anecdotes, and peculiar and funny stories of the construction of Casa Batlló in 1904.
The performance is available in both English and Spanish and lasts approximately one hour. Groups number around 20 people per session. The tours will take place two Saturdays per month, in English at 4pm and in Spanish at 6pm, from March the 12th onwards. Tours cost €35 for adults and children under 7 are free.
These tours at offer culture and entertainment for all ages and introduce children and adults to Gaudi´s universe.
